Janette M. Braverman is the Founder and CEO of Leaders Leaving Legacies™, where she empowers corporate and nonprofit business leaders and entrepreneurs to leave legacies through professional coaching, leadership development training, technology services, business and strategic planning, and more. She designed Leaders LeadUp™ to be the online social community and learning platform to educate and connect women of color, underrepresented groups, employers and employees with some of the most successful leaders around the world. Training courses offered through Leaders LeadUp™ are open to everyone.
Janette is an award-winning community leader who has simultaneously juggled multiple executive leadership roles. Janette’s leadership experience along with her professional background, have allowed her to pivot across several industries including government, information technology, manufacturing, engineering, non-profit and education. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to several boards.
She formerly served as the President of the NAACP of Ozaukee County from January 2022 to February 2023, and served three terms as an Ozaukee County Board Supervisor from June 2016 to April 2022. She made history by becoming the 1st African American to serve in this role. While there, she served 2 years on the Public Safety Committee and 4 years on Health and Human Services Committee.
Upon graduating from college with a Bachelor’s in Computer Information Systems and Business Administration, she worked for Phillips Magnavox leading technology initiatives across El Paso and Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua. She’s worked for high-tech, software engineering and manufacturing companies such as Lockheed Martin Aerospace, Harley-Davidson, Inc. and Rockwell Automation. Thereafter, she served as Dean of the College of Business and Management at Cardinal Stritch University, where she earned her Master’s degree in Business Management, and also served as their Executive Director of External Partnerships.
Janette’s mission is to not only leave a legacy for her children, but to serve and give back to the communities in which she works and lives while empowering others to do the same. She has received several awards and honors for being an inspirational and multi-faceted leader including: 2023 Milwaukee Community Journal Diamond Honoree Award, Wisconsin’s Top 48 Most Influential Black Leaders (2021), Milwaukee Business Journal’s Power Brokers (2020, 2021,2023), Professional Dimensions Imprint Award (2021), the MBJ Woman of Influence Award (2018) and more.
