PRESS RELEASE
**FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE**
November 23 2021
We are excited to announce John Salemi as our VP and Treasurer for the NAACP Ozaukee County branch. John is a District Manager and Vice President for U.S. Bank in Milwaukee and Ozaukee Counties. He grew up in Arlington Heights, IL and moved north to Wisconsin after attending Carthage College in Kenosha. John is currently serving in his seventh year at the Milwaukee Urban League as Chairman of the Board, and he has extensive nonprofit board experience. He has served on the board of directors for the Kenosha Boys and Girls Club, Danceworks, Inc., the CEO of me, the Round Lake Chamber of Commerce and more.
John oversees branch operations for consumer and business banking and has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. He understands financial institutions are only as strong as the communities and customers they serve and when everyone has the same access to resources and opportunities, we all win. John is also focused on financial literacy and education throughout his market because he knows that financial stability enables families to access safe housing, healthy foods, and other necessities that impact health and wellbeing.
“We are honored to have John join our leadership team. He brings a wealth of knowledge to the role that will help us continue to move both our organization and community forward. We have made great strides this year and have a bright future,” stated Branch President Janette M. Braverman. “For generations, the NAACP has been instrumental in securing the passage of civil rights legislation to ensure equity and fairness for people of color. U.S. Bank and I stand by this work and those efforts. It’s the right thing to do, and it creates a more just and vibrant community,” stated John Salemi.
